International Nurses Day was celebrated on 12th May 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Patel Group of Nursing Institutions, with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty members, and management. The programme was organized to honour the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contributions of nurses to society and to inspire future nursing professionals.
The celebration began with a prayer song and welcome address, followed by the inauguration through lamp lighting and garlanding of the portrait of Florence Nightingale. A special session highlighted the life and achievements of Florence Nightingale and emphasized the significance of International Nurses Day. The theme of the celebration, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”, reflected the vital role of nurses in strengthening healthcare systems and improving patient outcomes.
The programme included the Nurses’ Oath Administration, floral tribute to Florence Nightingale, and an inspiring keynote address by the invited guest, Mrs. Arul Beulah Jasmine, CNS, Manipal Hospital. She appreciated the dedication of nurses and encouraged students to uphold the values of professionalism, compassion, and lifelong learning. The Principal also addressed the gathering and motivated students to serve society with commitment and excellence.
Various activities such as cultural programmes, games, health check-up activities, cake cutting, and felicitation of the guest added joy and enthusiasm to the celebration. Around 150 students, faculty members, and management representatives actively participated in the programme, making the event memorable and meaningful.
