International Yoga Day 2026 Celebration

The 12th International Yoga Day was observed on 21st June 2026 at Patel group of nursing Institution with collaboration of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and SDM College of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences,with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty members, and staff. The day is celebrated worldwide to promote the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga and to encourage a healthy lifestyle. The theme for International Yoga Day 2026 emphasized the importance of yoga in achieving overall well-being and harmony.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by the faculty coordinator. A special session on the significance of yoga was conducted by faculty members, highlighting the role of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, reducing stress, improving concentration, and promoting mental health. Participants were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more balanced life.

Various yoga activities, including breathing exercises (Pranayama), meditation, and demonstrations of different yoga postures (Asanas), were organized and demonstrated by allocated yoga trainers Mr. Adithya k R & Mr. Akshay ,SDM College of Naturopathy & Yogic Science,Ujire. Students and faculty members actively participated in the yoga session and learned about the benefits of regular practice. Awareness talks were also conducted to emphasize the importance of yoga in preventing lifestyle-related diseases and enhancing overall wellness.

The Principal addressed the gathering and motivated students to adopt yoga as a way of life and to spread awareness about its benefits within their families and communities. The programme concluded with a pledge to practice yoga regularly and promote healthy living.

The celebration was informative, refreshing, and successful in creating awareness about the importance of yoga among nursing students. Everyone expressed their commitment to maintaining physical and mental well-being through regular yoga practice.The celebration was concluded by felicitating  yoga trainers with memento.
